Brisbane residents preparing for summer will soon benefit from the return of the “$2 Summer Dips” pool entry initiative, commencing on 1 December 2025. The discounted general entry fees will be available at all 22 Brisbane City Council swimming pools across the city.
The initiative is scheduled to run for three months, from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. The Council announced the return of the $2 Summer Dips in this year’s budget. It forms part of a broader package of cost-of-living initiatives designed to take pressure off household budgets while providing opportunities for fun, fitness, and recreation.
The $2 flat fee applies to various admission types, making general pool access highly affordable. Admissions included in the discount are adult general entry, child general entry, and concession general entry. The discount also applies to family passes, specifically the 3-person family pass (one adult and 2 children) and the 4-person family pass (2 adults and 2 children).
Furthermore, the initiative covers fees for additional adults and children, as well as other general entry admission types charged by lessees. These lessee-charged general entry types include spectator general entry, water polo general entry, group booking general entry, and Active and Healthy program general entry.
However, not all services and attractions at the Council pools are included in the promotion. Specifically excluded from the $2 Summer Dips initiative are:
Additionally, certain lessee-operated pool programs are excluded. These exclusions include structured programs such as learn-to-swim classes, swimming squads, school swimming, and hirer agreements and events. Aqua aerobics classes are also excluded unless they are specifically part of the Council’s Active and Healthy program.
