Over 82,000 Searches and 600 Weapons Seized Under Jack’s Law | QLD Police Crack Down on Knife Crime

More than 82,000 people have been scanned and over 600 weapons seized in Queensland since Jack’s Law became permanent marking a major expansion in police wanding powers.

Officers can now use metal detectors in all public places, helping prevent knife-related violence and keeping communities safer. The law, named after 17-year-old Jack Beasley who was tragically stabbed in Surfers Paradise in 2019, is part of ongoing efforts by his parents, Brett and Belinda Beasley, to save lives through stronger prevention measures.
